Paddy Carroll a young man who worked on the Dundalk Link line between Cinn Tratha and Greenore is missing and presumed drowned., On Friday afternoon he went boating in the docks in his local area Greenore, and sometime later a customs officer noticed an empty boat floating towards the sea, Later on, some people from the Co Down coast noticed the boat and some men in a motorboat took the empty boat in Greenore.
There was only one oar in the boat when it was found. The police and local people searched the dock area but found no sight or report of the young man.
Since then a close watch was kept on the coast and surrounding areas but have found no report of him.
The young man was 19 years of age and his father is a guard on the railway.
